Stone & Key Cidery

Stone & Key Cellars is a proud producer of Pennsylvania-sourced and fermented ciders. All of our hard ciders are pressed and fermented from apples grown at Solebury Orchards in New Hope, PA. Our ciders are available in tasting flights, by the glass, in growlers, and in cans (single, 4-pack, or case) at our tasting room in Ambler. They’re also available online for delivery or pick up and at the many off-site events (tastings, markets, and festivals) we attend.

Flagship Ciders

These ciders represent our most beloved and asked-for varieties. They embody the classic cider styles that American cider drinkers seek when searching for a refreshing, everyday beverage.

Cherry Pie

    • Solebury Orchard blend, infused with pure Montmorency cherries from King Orchard (MI), offers a perfect balance of tart and sweet. This award-winning cider took home 1st place fruit cider at the 2020 Pennsylvania Farm Show!

Pineapple X-Press

    • Solebury Orchard blend infused with pure pineapple delivers vibrant, tropical aromas and flavors with a lively acidity. Clean and crisp, it offers an intense yet balanced pineapple experience from start to finish.

Solely

    • Solely is a tribute to the apples of Solebury Orchard, crafted with one philosophy in mind: keep it simple. Just pure apples and a touch of cane sugar for balance—nothing more. The result is a cider where the true essence of apple shines through in every sip.

Vino Ciders

Vino ciders are produced using a unique process developed in our cidery. We take freshly pressed grape skins (before fermentation) and add fresh-pressed sweet cider. We then ferment this combination in a similar fashion to a wine with daily punch downs to extract flavor, tannins, and color. Next, the cider is pressed from the skins, aged, and slightly sweetened for balance before packaging.

Current Offerings

Vino Cider Symphony

    • This Solebury blend cider is fermented on freshly pressed Symphony grape skins, creating a unique fusion of flavors. Expect bold apricot and orange marmalade notes, with subtle hints of mango and stone fruit. Inspired by Stone & Key’s Symphony Iced Wine, a rich dessert-style wine made from these rare grapes, Symphony Vino Cider is the fortunate outcome of using these skins in our Vino Cider Program, resulting in a truly distinctive cider experience.

Vino Cider Cabernet Franc

    • This slightly carbonated semi-dry cider evokes cranberry jubilee with hints of boysenberry, topped with your favorite cherry tart Pastry.

Vino Cider Cabernet Sauvignon

Vino Cider Chardonnay

Wood-Aged Ciders

Wood-aged ciders are crafted by aging fermented cider in barrels sourced from spirit producers and our own wine production. This aging process (3 months up to a year), adds depth and complexity to the cider. As the cider rests in the barrel, it absorbs a blend of flavors and tannins from both the previous contents and the wood itself, resulting in a rich, layered final product.

Current Offerings

Rye Barrel-Aged Cider

    • Aged for one year in Wigle rye barrels, this cider offers a crisp, refreshing taste with a touch of dryness and a subtle rye character that adds depth to the flavor.

Blue Blazer Cider

    • Refreshingly unique, bold, and dry cider that has been aged in Bluecoat Gin barrels. Dry on the palate with woody character and ephemeral herbal notes from the previous barrel occupant.

In Process

ABB Apple Brandy Barrel Aged

    • Solebury Blend resting in Laird’s Apple Brandy Barrels. Expect notes of boozy brandy and woody white oak character.

Blue Blazer Cider

    • A fresh batch of cider aging in freshly dumped Bluecoat Gin barrels. Look for this to appear in cans for the first time, late spring.

Specialty Ciders

These ciders spark from the creative minds of our production team. They are often inspired by the unique flavors that naturally evolve in our fermentation lots each year.

Bumble Bee Fight Club (Sabro) – hopped cider

    • This lightly carbonated cider made with Sabro hops & toasted coconut is semi-dry with an apple tart tropical coconut finish.

New England Cider

    • Our New England cider is crafted in the traditional style, fermented with brown sugar and aged on raisins. Finished with a warming blend of cinnamon and nutmeg, it delivers bold, flavorful intensity—a perfect winter warmer.

Dry Humor

    • A blend of specialty apples including Ashmead’s Kernal, Golden Russet, and Northern Spy – this is serious cider! Huge apple aroma and a complex apple flavor with nothing else added. It drinks like a very dry white wine sparkler. You laugh, you must start over…with another can!

Cider Blanc

    • Single varietal cider made from Jonagold apples, which yield an incredibly light-colored cider with a dry wine-like finish. We enhance the wine-esque character of this bone-dry cider by blending in a small amount of Sauvignon Blanc finished wine. Light, crisp, and refreshing on the palate. Limited supply of 750ml bottles; new version currently in production.

Ice Cider

    • Originally crafted by the cider makers of Quebec, Ice Cider is often referred to as the “ice wine” of the cider world. This sweet, intensely flavored cider is crafted from a Solebury blend grown and pressed at Solebury Orchards, then cryoconcentrated* and fermented by us. Perfect as an aperitif alongside a selection of cheeses, or paired with fruit-based desserts or vanilla ice cream, this unique beverage offers a truly indulgent experience.

[*Cryoconcentration involves freezing fresh cider and removing the ice. The remaining liquid is a rich concentration of flavor, acidity, and sugar, with a minimum sugar content of 30% for authentic ice cider.]
